Three seats on the GreyStone Power Board of Directors are up for election in 2010, with those elected announced Oct. 9 at the Cooperative’s Annual Meeting of Members. Contested elections will be conducted by mail-in ballot.
Eligible members may become a candidate by being nominated by the Nominating Committee, or by nomination by petition of members. To be considered by the Nominating Committee, call 770-370-2066 for a nomination form, or click here to print the online application, fill it out and return it to GreyStone by Friday, April 16. Mail completed applications to Nancy Lewis, GreyStone Power, P.O. Box 897, Douglasville, GA 30133. The Nominating Committee will determine which applicants to interview.
A member may also be placed on the ballot by submitting a petition signed by 50 or more GreyStone members. Persons signing must be the member of record whose name is on the electric bill. Call 770-370-2066 to request a petition or click here to print the online petition. The deadline to submit completed petitions to GreyStone is Thursday, July 1, 2010. All nominees are subject to a criminal background check. Candidates desiring to have their name and biographical information included in the Annual Meeting edition of GEORGIA Magazine must submit information in the format and manner required by the Credentials and Elections Committee by Friday, July 9. Directors currently serving and seeking re-election this year are Charles E. Rutland, District 3, Douglas/Paulding counties; Jennifer DeNyse, District 5, Carroll/Douglas counties; and J. Edwin Garrard, District 9, Cobb County.
