DCTV 23’s  The Job filmed at GreyStone in March

Douglas County’s local access TV station, DCTV23, filmed an episode of their show The Job at GreyStone March 3. The Job highlights a business by showing several of the different jobs employees have and allowing the host, Tafee Patterson, to try her hand at a few.

The GreyStone episode of The Job begins airing March 17 and will be on for four weeks (Mondays at 9 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays at 9a.m. and 9 p.m.).

At GreyStone, Tafee shows what happens behind the scenes to get a home ready before a member signs up for power, and reminds viewers of GreyStone’s commitment to keep the power on after a member is connected. She helped with five jobs at GreyStone.

First Tafee went to a new subdivision development where she and Staking Technician Charles McKinley measured distances in the field to get a home ready for a power line. Then she met Supervisor of Line Construction & Maintenance Kenny Wylie and Warehouse Supervisor Dwight Waters in the warehouse, where they loaded up with equipment for a typical lineman exercise.

Kenny and Tafee joined Lineman Tony Brown and Apprentice Linemen Julio Villegas and Charlie Camp at the training grounds, where she learned how a crossarm is replaced. Tony and Charlie climbed the pole while Tafee watched—and helped—from a nearby bucket.

Tafee left the training grounds and met with Member Services Representative Terri Barton to learn what happens when a member calls in for new service. And after seeing the whole process, Tafee had one final stop to make—SCADA, where Dispatcher System Control Supervisor Kirby Southerland showed Tafee how his team is always watching to be sure the power stays on.
