Solar Water Heating Program
GreyStone members can now benefit from the sun in a new way: heating their water through the cooperative’s Solar Water Heating Program. GreyStone offers qualified members a $500 rebate. Solar thermal water heating moves water slowly through a system designed to heat and store water. Today’s solar thermal systems use the most efficient techniques for capturing the sun’s heat with modern plumbing systems to produce inexpensive hot water, reducing the need for gas or electricity. Members benefit through utility bill savings, and helping reduce dependency on foreign fuels and national resources.
Program Requirements

Copy of sales contract with complete product information including: Proof from installing contractor that system is certified OG-300 by the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation.( SRCC) and that installing contractor has training certification from North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners or by a contractor who has been trained through approved manufacturer’s training program

System to have freeze protection (closed loop or drain back design)

System to have electric backup with minimum 80 gallon storage capacity

System components (solar panels, tanks, etc.) to be new

Any future renewable energy credits will be retained by GreyStone Power

Fact sheet to be completed by member requesting rebate to ensure that all requirements have been met
