We hope that we can count on your support in signing the letter to the House Appropriations Committee to continue fiscal year 2010 (FY10) funding levels for USDA programs and reject restrictions on peaking natural gas and environmental upgrades. GreyStone relies on RUS funding to provide reliable service at the lowest cost possible for its members. We also urge you to support fellow members of Congress who are doing important bipartisan work to prevent the EPA from regulating greenhouse gas emissions under the federal Clean Air Act. We strongly believe that allowing the EPA to regulate carbon and other greenhouse gasses would increase our members’ energy costs and create expensive regulations and unnecessary delays in building new generating plants that are vital for meeting future energy demands. We hope that you will consider co-sponsoring any bills that would prevent the EPA from using the Clean Air Act to impose regulations in a way that Congress never intended.
