Preparations for winter ice/snow storm

GreyStone Power line personnel have been placed on alert regarding the adverse weather conditions that could impact GreyStone members beginning Thursday afternoon. Steve Findley, GreyStone Power department manager of operations, reports that early Thursday morning, all GreyStone crews will meet to be briefed on the latest weather forecasts as well as on additional safety precautions to be taken during adverse weather conditions, and will prepare their trucks for work as always.

All line crews will be on standby after normal working hours Thursday evening. Findley has contacted operations managers from nearby cooperatives to lend or receive assistance if needed. Should weather conditions deteriorate with resulting outages, GreyStone disaster plans will go into effect and crews will work their assigned disaster areas to do everything possible to restore power as quickly as possible. To report an outage or view occurring outages, GreyStone members may visit the storm center at www.greystonepower.com or call 770-942-6576. Tips for weathering the storm are also available at the storm center on the web site.
