MARCH 2005

Starting April 1, members can call GreyStone 24 hours a day, seven days a week

In an effort to improve service to its 87,000 member-owners, on April 1 GreyStone extended live telephone service hours to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“We want our members to be able to conduct any type of business they like with us in the evenings when they’re sitting at home, writing their bills if they want to,” says Jim Hunter, GreyStone's Vice President of Marketing and Member Services. “Our goal has always been to give our members the best service possible at the most competitive rates possible. We feel that this is a giant step forward in providing the service our members deserve. We realize that the success of our services to the members depends on finding the right employees, developing the right processes, using the right technology and continuously evaluating performance. Customer service surveys that we now conduct quarterly consistently place us at the top when ranked against other utilities, but we don’t want to rest on our laurels. We continue to seek ways to better serve our members--after all, they are GreyStone’s owners, and our employers.

"We always welcome suggestions from our members, often their suggestions lead to new services or programs for members. Feel free to contact us at memberservices@greystonepower.com, or call a Member Services Representative at 770-942-6576. We’ll be listening 24 hours a day.”

Dispatchers and line crews have always been available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to restore power in case of outages. Call Center hours were originally extended until 8 p.m. last July, and additional Member Services Representatives were hired to lessen telephone wait time. The rapid growth of GreyStone’s eight-county service area pushed meters served over 100,000 in 2004, with growth showing no signs of slowing. GreyStone distributes power to members in portions of eight counties west of metropolitan Atlanta, including Douglas Paulding, Carroll, Fulton, Cobb, Bartow, Coweta, and Fayette.
