AMR coming to Camp Creek and east Dallas

South Fulton members were the first to catch the wave of a new, innovative technology that delivers a more accurate and cost-efficient way to read meters. To serve members better, new digital meters will be installed over the next three years in all homes and businesses powered by GreyStone, providing several member service and cost-saving benefits. The new system will provide additional information to improve outage management and restoration efforts, enhancing electric service reliability.

GreyStone began replacing members’ electric meters in August with the new automated meter reading (AMR) technologically advanced meter. The next phase of installation will begin between the end of October and the first of November in the Camp Creek and east Dallas areas. Installation in these locations is expected to be complete by the end of the year. Meters will not begin to be read remotely immediately; Tru-Check meter readers will continue to visit homes and businesses to read meters for at least two months or longer after installation until the system is fully operational.

“This system-wide enhancement will enable us to read all electric meters remotely, and will serve our members well,” says Gary Miller, GreyStone Power President/CEO. “We appreciate the cooperation and patience of our South Fulton members who have already had their new meters installed. Members’ cooperation is essential to help make the conversion process run smoothly.”

A GreyStone Power contractor, Lynn-Edward Power Service, will install the automated meters. Notices will be left at the premises upon installation. For more information or if you have concerns, please call Member Services at 770-942-6576 or email memberservices@greystonepower.com.
