Green Power adds hydro to EMC power mix
In February of 2005 Green Power EMC received approval for the Tallassee Shoals Low Impact Hydro Power Purchase Agreement. This will be the first Green Power project using water to generate electricity for Georgia homes. The agreement is being sponsored by 10 cooperatives, including GreyStone Power. Other cooperatives investing in the project are Coastal, Coweta-Fayette EMC, Habersham, Irwin EMC, Jackson EMC, Lamar EMC, Snapping Shoals EMC, Tri-County EMC and Walton EMC.
