GreyStone Power has been named this year’s recipient of the Leadership Douglas `Leadership Award.`
Officers, graduates and members of the current Leadership Douglas Class gathered at GreyStone Power headquarters to dedicate the bronze plaque and monument that reads:
'Our future depends on education, community, and leadership development. Presented by Leadership Douglas. 2004'
"This is part of a program of annual awards that was instituted a number of years ago by Leadership Douglas to recognize an individual, board, political group, company or business that truly stands above their peers in terms of service to the community," said Bob Snelling, Leadership Douglas chair.
In making the presentation, Joanne Kelley listed a few of GreyStone’s community activities, including: Partners in Education, Shadow Day, Boys & Girls Club, Operation Round Up, March of Dimes and United Way.
In accepting the award, GreyStone Power President/CEO Gary Miller said the community involvement is their way of giving back.
"We don’t do it for the recognition," he said.
