GreyStone CEO Gary Miller named to Oglethorpe Power Board

Gary A. Miller, President/CEO of GreyStone Power Corporation, has been elected to the Oglethorpe Power Corporation Board of Directors. Miller will serve as Northwest Regional Manager Director on the 13-member board. He will serve a two-year term. Miller has been President/CEO of GreyStone since 1999. He previously held positions at Amicalola Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) in Jasper, GA and Jackson EMC in Commerce, GA.

 

In addition to serving on the Oglethorpe Power Board, Miller is also active in the community where he is the past Chairman of the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Boards of Directors of the Douglas County Development Authority, Hospital Authority of Douglas County, the WellStar Douglas Regional Health Board, and chairman of the Douglas County United Way. He is an advisory Board Member of Regions Bank, an Interim Board Member of the Regional Youth Shelter, and a Board Member of Communities in Schools. He serves as a trustee at Inner Harbour Hospital and is a graduate of Leadership Douglas. He is a member of Central Baptist Church in Douglasville where he also teaches Sunday school. Miller is a graduate of North Georgia College, is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a law degree from Georgia State University.  

Oglethorpe Power, the nation’s largest electric cooperative, is owned by 39 Electric Membership Corporations (EMCs) around Georgia, including GreyStone Power. The Atlanta based corporation manages a variety of electric power generating assets, including coal-fired, nuclear, hydroelectric and gas-fired facilities, on behalf of its Member Systems.
