Fred Wallace    
     

Fred Wallace was elected to the Board of Directors at GreyStone Power in October of 1991. Before his election to the board, he was active on the co-op's Member Services Committee as well as the Nominating Committtee. He has served on the Audit/Finance Committee and presently serves on the Board's Policy and Public Relations Committee and on the Georgia Magazine Advisory Board. Fred has completed all schooling and is certified by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. He is a retired licensed Master electrician, having served his trade for over 45 years in the Atlanta and southeast area.

Fred was a member of the committee that established the Douglas County Mental Health Association and has always been ready to take an active part in his community. He and his wife, Anne, have two children and four grandchildren. They have resided in Douglas County since 1960. The are members of Midway United Methodist Chruch where Fred serves on the Midway Christian Academy Board, and is a past director for the United Way sponsored Me'N'U program for before and after school kids.

He is a musician and was inducted into the Atlanta County Music Hall of Fame in 1997. He gives of his time each week entertaining with "The Swingin' Old Dudes," a group of retired musicians who enjoy entertaining senior citizens in various churches and senior centers in the metro area.

Having served on the board for the past 15 years, Fred has made many friends not only in Georgia, but all over the United States in classes and meetings he has attended while acquiring his accreditation with NRECA.
